Store categories are a helpful way to organize the items you sell in your camp store. They make it easier to find products during checkout and give you a clearer view of what types of items are selling in your reports.
For example, you may want to create categories like Food, Merch, or Clothing. Once your categories are set up, you can quickly switch between them in the Store and also filter your Products Report by category.
How to Add a Store Category
To create a new store category, start by going to your Store and clicking Edit Products. From there, click Add Category.
A window will open where you can enter the details for the new category. Give the category a name, such as Food or Merch. You can also add a tax rate for the category if needed.
The category tax rate will apply to every product in that category unless a product already has its own individual tax rate set. For example, you could create a Food category and set the tax rate to 2%. Any products added to that category would use that 2% tax rate unless they have their own tax rate.
You can also choose a color for the category. This step is optional, but it can make it easier to tell your categories apart at a glance.
How to Add Products to a Category
After creating the category, you can add products to it using the Search Products field.
Click inside the field and select the products you want to include. You can add one product or multiple products at the same time. For example, if you are creating a Food category, you might add items like Soda Pop and Ice Cream.
If you add a product by mistake, you can remove it by clicking the X next to the product name. You can also open the dropdown again and toggle the product on or off.
When you are finished adding products, click Save.
You can repeat this process to create additional categories. For example, you might create a Merch category and add products like hats, sweatshirts, or other campground merchandise.
How to Reorder Store Categories
Once you have more than one category, you can change the order they appear in your Store.
While editing your categories, simply drag and drop them into the order you prefer. When everything looks good, click Save and stop editing.
This allows you to place your most commonly used categories where they are easiest to access.
How to Switch Between Store Categories
After your categories are saved, they will appear at the top of your Store.
You can click a category name to quickly filter the products shown in the Store. For example, clicking Food will show your food items, while clicking Merch will show your merchandise items.
This makes it easier to find the right product during checkout, especially if your store has a lot of items.

How to View Product Sales by Category
You can also use your store categories when reviewing product sales.
To do this, go to the Reports tab and open the Products report. From there, you can use the category filter to view sales for a specific category.
For example, you can filter the report to only show products sold in your Food category, or you can switch to your Merch category to review merchandise sales. You can also choose All Categories if you want to see all product sales together.

Filtering the Products Report by category is useful when you want to compare sales between different types of products, track revenue by category, identify best-selling items, or better understand what guests are purchasing from your camp store.
How to Export the Products Report
The Products Report can also be exported into a spreadsheet by clicking Download Report in the top right corner.

This is helpful if you want to organize the information further, share it with your team, or keep a copy for your records.
