This feature is in the process of being released! If you don’t see the option to apply weekend prices in your dashboard already, please expect it to become available in the next couple of weeks.
Park With Us is introducing new Weekend Price settings that replace the old Weekend Fee system. These new settings are more flexible, easier to manage, and provide a clearer booking experience for your guests.
This article walks through how to set up the new prices, including steps needed to switch off of the old weekend fee settings.
What’s Changing?
Previously, weekend surcharges were handled by adding a Weekend Fee on top of the base rates for Friday and Saturday night bookings. The new Weekend Prices replace these fees with prices built directly into your Rate Plans. The table below highlights some important differences between these systems.
Weekend Fees (old system) | Weekend Prices (new system) |
Added on top of the base nightly price. | Replaces the base nightly price. |
Also added to weekly bookings. | Does not affect weekly bookings. |
May apply on top of prices set by events. | Prices from events always take priority. |
Guests see the fee at checkout. | Guests see the price during site selection. |
Must be the same for all sites in a site category. | Can be customized for each rate plan. |
Only applied to Friday and Saturday nights. | Can be applied to any days you choose. |
Removing Your Existing Weekend Fee
To avoid double-charging your weekend surcharges, you’ll want to disable the old weekend fee before setting up your weekend prices.
- Click the Edit button next to each site category
- Scroll to the bottom of the settings panel to find the Weekend Fee
- Delete the current fee amount and save
At this point, the inputs for the old weekend fee will disappear.
Adding Weekend Prices to Your Rate Plans
Now, you can add a weekend price to any applicable Rate Plan. This can be done from the settings for an individual site, or by visiting your Prices settings page.
- Find the Rate Plan and click Edit
- At the bottom of the card, click Add weekend price
- Fill in the Amount and adjust the Applicable days as need-be
- By default, these are set to Friday and Saturday nights, like the current weekend fees.
- Click save
Remember: if you have a weekly price, this will no longer be affected by weekend fees. You may want to increase your weekly price to compensate.
Example: converting weekend fees
Let’s say that these were your original prices:
- Nightly: $40
- Weekly: $220
- Weekend fee: $10
If you want your nightly and weekly pricing to remain the same, you would update your prices to these amounts:
- Nightly: $40
- Nightly (weekend): $50
- Weekly: $240
Remember that if you have multiple Rate Plans, a weekend price needs to be added to each of them. This means that you can set a unique weekend price for each plan.
How Weekend Prices Appear During Booking
With the new system:
- Reservations that include selected weekend days will use the weekend nightly price
- Non-weekend nights will continue using the standard nightly price
- Weekly reservations will use the weekly rate only
Guests booking online will immediately see the correct nightly pricing during site selection, without surprise fees appearing later at checkout.
Using Weekend Prices with Events
If you set date-based prices using Events, these prices will override a weekend price, just like they do for a regular nightly price. You may need to increase your event prices to account for the fact that a weekend fee will no longer be added on top.
If you currently use the built-in holiday fee function, these holiday fees would be added on top of your new weekend price. To preserve your existing price structure, we recommend switching to Events. This article walks through how to create and manage events in your dashboard:
